Why build a free trade port?
With the rise of unilateralism and trade protectionism today, China has proposed to build a free trade port with Chinese characteristics, which actually shows the world that China will firmly promote reform and opening up. Since 2013, China has set up three batches of pilot free trade zones. These pilot free trade zones have their own characteristics and play an important role in exploring the experience that can be replicated and promoted. The free trade port with Chinese characteristics should implement the party's unified leadership over the construction of the free trade port on the basis of China's sovereignty. In terms of industry selection, it will also learn from the mature experience of foreign countries in accordance with the requirements of the socialist market economic system.
Why did the free trade port choose to explore and build in Hainan?
Hainan is the largest special economic zone in my country. It has a unique geographical location and the best ecological environment in the country. At the same time, it is a relatively independent geographic unit and has the unique advantage of becoming a national experimental field for reform and opening up.
What are the benefits of the free trade port for the country?
At present, there are more than 130 free trade ports in the world and more than 2,000 free economic zones with similar connotations and functions to free trade ports. Hong Kong, China, Hamburg Free Trade Port in Germany, Dubai Free Trade Zone, Rotterdam Free Trade Port in the Netherlands, South Korea The Busan Free Trade Port Zone, etc., are all internationally renowned free trade ports. With the continuous deepening of economic globalization and international division of labor, it has played an important role in promoting international trade and social and economic development. The construction of a free trade port is an important platform and support carrier for my country to accelerate the cultivation of new international competitive advantages, form a new pattern of comprehensive opening, and form a higher level of opening up. It demonstrates my country's determination to expand opening up and actively promote economic globalization.
What benefits will the free trade port bring to ordinary people?
From the perspective of economic characteristics, the free trade port must ultimately be a free trade with comprehensive functions. It must not only develop round-island tourism and expand international tourism trade, but also develop other modern service industries, such as international pensions corresponding to international tourism and the health industry.
